Himat Hair Art

Himat Hair Art is located in Chabildas Ki Chali, over in the Khokhara Mehmadabad area. Our shop is quite small and sits right on the edge of the residential street. It’s been here for quite some time now. Most of the people who come here are workers from the nearby area or families who have lived in the Chali for generations. We mostly do men’s haircuts and shaves. It’s a very traditional setup. We have the old-style chairs and the big mirrors. We don't use fancy machines, mostly just scissors and straight razors. It’s a simple life here. We start early in the morning because that’s when the men want their shaves before going to work. There’s usually a small crowd outside talking about the weather or the news. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that rattles a little bit. It’s part of the shop's charm, I guess. We keep the prices low because we know our customers aren't looking for luxury. They just want to look neat. Sometimes we do head massages with oil, which is popular on Sundays. The floor is concrete and we sweep it out into the street. It’s a humble place, nothing like those salons in the malls. We’re just part of the local fabric here in Khokhara. We know everyone and everyone knows us. That’s enough for us.
