Our workshop is B-21 in the Deviland Estate. It’s right across from the Karmabhumi Estate in Kathawada. If you know that area, you know it’s always busy with workers and small tempos moving around. We’ve been here for a bit now, just doing our thing every day. The space is filled with our equipment and materials, so there isn't much room to walk around some days. It’s a typical Kathawada setup where everyone is busy with their own production. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until the light fades. Sometimes we stay later if a job is taking longer than we thought. We aren't big on fancy meetings; we just talk over the machines or during lunch. The heat in the summer can be tough under the tin roof, but we have a few fans that help. We’ve known the guys in the neighboring units for years, and we help each other out if someone needs a tool or an extra hand. It’s a hard-working atmosphere. We don’t spend money on big signs or anything like that. People find us because they need work done and they know we are here. It’s just honest labor, day in and day out. We keep our tea kettle going most of the afternoon. It’s how we keep moving through the pile of work and getting things ready for the next day.
