About Gagan Glass & Alluminium Traders – Building & Construction Material in Ahmedabad
The shop is tucked inside the Sahajanand Complex on Shahibaug Road, which is always crawling with traffic and people. We deal with glass and aluminum sections every day, so the floor is usually covered in small shavings that we have to sweep up constantly. It gets quite hot in Shahibaug during the summer months and the glass reflects all that heat right back at us. We have got stacks of aluminum frames leaning against the walls and large sheets of glass waiting to be cut. People come in looking for window frames or shop fronts, and we just give them what we have in stock. Carrying the heavy glass sheets out to the trucks is the hardest part because you have to be so careful with the grip. Sometimes the edges are sharp and you get a small nick, but that is just part of the trade. The complex itself is old and the walls could use some paint, but it does not matter much for the work we do. We have been here long enough that most of the other shopkeepers know us by name. We do not spend much on making the place look pretty because it is a workshop first. We just focus on cutting the glass to the right size and making sure the aluminum joints are tight. It is a straightforward business and we stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the tea coming.
