Gondal is famous for its marketing yard and its oil. We are right opposite the new marketing yard on N.H. 8-B. The address is Survey No. 484/3p. Dharti Edible Oils is basically a bunch of us working in the heat with the smell of pressed seeds everywhere. We share the space with Dharti Industries. Being on the highway means it’s always loud with trucks going to Rajkot. We spend our time checking the quality of the oil and making sure the machines are running. It’s greasy work. Our hands are rarely clean during the day. We don't have an office with air conditioning. We just have a small cabin with a fan that barely works. But we like being near the action at the marketing yard. You can see the farmers bringing in their crops across the road. We talk to them and see how the season is going. It's a very local way of doing things. We don't use big words or fancy presentations. If the oil is good, it sells. That’s our philosophy, if you can call it that. We’ve been here in Gondal for a long time. The dust from the road gets into everything, but you get used to it. We just keep the presses moving. It’s what we know how to do. Rajkot is just a short drive away if we need anything big. It is a long day’s work here.
