Bombay Saree Center

We are located at Dhalgarwad Kapad Bazar, which is a very old and well-known market area. Bombay Saree Center is basically what it sounds like—a place where we sell sarees. Dhalgarwad is famous for clothes, so there’s always a lot of competition and energy in the air. Our shop isn't some high-end boutique with air conditioning and soft music. It’s a traditional market shop where we unfold sarees on the counter so people can see the fabric and the work on them. We have all sorts of sarees, from the ones people wear every day to the slightly heavier ones meant for special occasions. The floors are usually covered with fabric by the end of a busy afternoon because we like to let people really look at what they’re buying. It gets quite dusty and noisy outside with all the traffic in Kapad Bazar, but that’s just part of being in this part of the city. We don’t have a website or a big marketing plan. We just rely on people walking by and the fact that we’ve been here at this spot for quite some time. It’s just us and the sarees, really. We try to be helpful when someone is looking for a specific color, but mostly we just let the clothes speak for themselves. It’s a busy life in Dhalgarwad, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. It is just a simple place to buy a saree.
