You can find us at Shop Number 2 in Balkeshwar Society, over in Maninagar East. We are right opposite the D/33 Sarkari Hospital, which means there are always people moving around outside. The Madrasi Temple is also very close by, so we hear the sounds from there quite often. Our salon is a small part of the local community here in Ahmedabad. We have a few chairs and the usual sinks for washing hair. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when we have more than three people waiting, but everyone seems to manage. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some old calendars and the price list taped up. The hospital across the street keeps the area busy, and sometimes people coming from there stop in for a quick trim. We start our day early to beat the heat. The floor is made of old tiles and we spend a lot of time keeping it clean. We use regular tools and don't bother with the expensive stuff you see in malls. It is just a neighborhood shop where you can get a haircut without any fuss. The neighbors stop by to chat even if they don't need anything done. We have been in this society for a long time and everyone knows where the shop is. It is just a practical place for the local people to come by.
