Our shop is over at Shop No 2 in the Ramrath Complex. It is a busy part of Ctm, right opposite the overbridge. If you are walking near Rastrabharti School, you will probably see our sign. We have been here for a long time, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. The bridge brings in a lot of noise, but we are used to it by now. Inside, it is just me and another fellow working the chairs. We have the usual tools, some old combs, and scissors that we keep sharp. It is not a polished place with bright lights. The paint on the walls is a bit old, but the mirrors are clear enough to see what is happening. People from the nearby apartments come in for their monthly haircut. We also do a lot of shaves for the office workers before they head out in the morning. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break. We don't have a website or anything like that. Most people just know us by name. It is a practical way to earn a living. We try to listen to what the customer wants, even if they aren't very clear about it. Life in Ahmedabad moves fast, but inside the shop, things stay pretty much the same day to day. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing for the folks in Ctm.
