Ashirvad Kirana

You will find us on the ground floor of the Balaji Green Park Complex. We are out in Ranasan, right near the G.E.B. on the Madosa Road. It’s a good spot because there is plenty of room for people to pull up and stop. The complex is fairly easy to spot once you get near the power station. Being on the ground floor means we don’t have to worry about stairs, which is good because carrying heavy bags of rice and flour all day is hard enough as it is. The shop is just a basic kirana store. We have rows of jars and bags piled up everywhere. It smells like spices and grains inside, which is a smell I’ve grown to like over the years. We don't have a big marketing plan or a website. Most people just see the shop when they are heading down Madosa Road and stop in for a few things. The sun hits the front of the complex in the afternoon, so it can get a little warm, but we have a couple of fans going to keep it okay. It isn't a fancy place with barcodes and scanners for everything. We do a lot of things the old way, with a pen and a notebook. It feels more natural that way for us. We are just part of the local scene in Ranasan, serving the folks who live in the complex and the other people who live nearby.
