Arman Hair Style

I open up the shop early most mornings because the traffic on Naroda Road gets loud pretty fast. Arman Hair Style is just a small spot here in Magal Girdhar Ni Chali, right across from the Naroda Fruit Market. You can smell the crates of mangoes and bananas when the wind blows the right way. It’s mostly just me and a couple of chairs. We’ve been sitting in this same spot near Memco for years now. It isn’t much to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done. I usually keep a small radio playing in the corner, though sometimes it’s just the sound of the scissors and the motorbikes zooming past. Most of the guys who come in live right around the corner or work at the shops nearby. We talk about the weather or how crowded the market is getting these days. I try to keep the floor swept, but with the dust from the road, it’s a constant battle. The mirror has a small crack in the corner that’s been there since my nephew knocked it over last Diwali, but you can still see yourself just fine. It’s a decent place to sit for twenty minutes while I trim your hair. Nothing fancy, just a regular neighborhood barber shop where you don't have to dress up or act important. I'm usually here until the sun goes down and the street lights kick on.
