Anwar Hair Art

Anwar Hair Art is a small shop located in the Jamalpur area. We are right near the Panchpipli Police Choki, which is how most people find their way to us. This part of Ahmedabad is very old and the streets are narrow and full of life. It’s not like the newer parts of the city with the big malls. Here, everything is close together and you know your neighbors by name. The shop itself is quite modest. We have a couple of chairs and some basic shelves for our combs and razors. It’s the kind of place where men come to get a quick shave or a trim and talk about the local news. We don’t have air conditioning, just the breeze from the door and a small fan on the wall. The walls have some old pictures on them, and the floor is just simple stone. Jamalpur is a place with a lot of history, and we feel like we are a small part of that. The police choki is always busy, so there is a lot of activity right outside our doorstep. It can get a bit hectic with the bikes and the pedestrians squeezing past, but that’s just the way it is here. We open early and stay open late to make sure we are there when people need us. It’s just honest work in an old neighborhood. We have been cutting hair here for years and we know the street well.
