We are tucked away in Plot No 410, Kubernagar, which isn't too hard to find if you know where the Maya Cinema is in Ahmedabad. It’s right behind there. The gym started because we wanted a place for the local guys in Mahadevnagar to lift weights without having to travel across the city. It’s a simple setup with standard iron plates, some dumbbells that have seen better days, and benches that get the job done. You’ll hear the clanking of metal most mornings when the sun is barely up. It gets a bit dusty because of the road, but we try to sweep it out daily. There isn’t any fancy air conditioning, just some big fans that move the air around while people do their sets. Most of the people who come here live just a few streets away, so everybody knows each other by name. Sometimes we stand outside on the plot after a workout just to catch a breeze. It’s not a flashy place with neon lights or anything like that. We just have what you need to get moving. If you’re coming from the main road, just look for the cinema and turn into the lane. It’s a quiet spot most of the time, except for when the evening crowd shows up after work. We keep the doors open late. It’s just how it is here in this part of Ahmedabad, nothing too complicated about it.
