Ami Hair Saloon

You can find Ami Hair Saloon at the Devdarshan Tower on the ground floor. We are right near the Nehrunagar Cross Road in Ambavadi. It is a very central spot in Ahmedabad, so there is always something going on outside. We are right across from Manekbaug Hall, which is a big landmark for people around here. The shop is Shop No.5. We started this place because we wanted to work for ourselves and stay close to home. Most days we are just busy with the usual haircuts and shaves. We see a lot of students from the nearby colleges and also some of the older gentlemen who have lived in Ambavadi forever. We don't have a fancy website or big posters. Just a simple board outside. Inside, it is just us and our tools. We try to keep things simple. Sometimes the traffic at the crossroad gets loud but you get used to it after a while. We spend a lot of time sweeping up hair and keeping the mirrors clean. It is hard work standing on your feet all day but it is what we do. People come in, tell us about their day, and we listen while we work. It is a nice way to spend the time. We are just regular people making a living in a busy city. When the day ends, we lock up and walk home through the neighborhood we know so well.
