Adarsh English Medium School

Adarsh English Medium School is located inside Rumali Bhavan, over in the Sardar Nagar area of Ahmedabad. It is a familiar spot for the people who live in this part of town. We use the space here to teach local children their English and other regular subjects. We don't have a big campus with sprawling green fields, just the building at Rumali Bhavan. We have several rooms that are used for the various classes, and they stay pretty full from the morning until the afternoon. The teachers arrive early every day to get their chalk and books ready for the first bell. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a bit of noise, but they are necessary for keeping the air moving when it gets warm. We see a lot of the same families coming back year after year. Often, the younger siblings follow their older brothers and sisters into our classrooms. It is a very simple and direct setup. We do not spend much time on decorations or fancy posters. The focus is really just on the daily schoolwork. When the final bell rings in the afternoon, the street outside gets very busy with parents and rickshaws waiting for the kids. It can be a bit of a mess for a while, and then everything quietens down again. Sardar Nagar is a busy, lived-in area, and our school fits right into that environment. We just do our work.
