Abhaya Waldorf School

We are over here in Ghatlodia, just below the Akanksha Appartment on Sola Road. It’s a bit of a quiet spot even with the city moving around us all the time. People often miss the turn if they aren't looking closely for the gate. We have kids coming in every morning and the place gets quite loud once the sun is up. It’s not a huge building or anything fancy like those big international places you see on the news. We just do things our own way here. There is a lot of wood and natural stuff around the rooms. I spend most of my time making sure the gates are open and the classrooms are ready before the first bus or rickshaw pulls up. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, but we just sweep it out and keep going. It’s a school where you might see children playing in the dirt or drawing on the floor. We don’t really worry about having the most modern shiny things. It is more about the rhythm of the day and getting through the lessons. The teachers here have their own style of doing things. You won’t find many posters or glossy flyers stuck on the walls. Mostly, it’s just the work the kids have done. We’ve been at this address for a while now. Some neighbors know us well, others just see the sign when they walk to the market. It feels like a small community, just tucked away behind the main road.
