Aashyam Special School & Vocational Training

Our school is over in South Bopal, specifically on the third and fourth floors of the Deffodils Plaza on Gala Gymkhana Road. It is a busy area of Ahmedabad with a lot of shops and traffic around us. Inside the rooms, things are a bit different than a regular office. We spend our days working with students who need extra help or are learning skills to get a job later on. There is usually some kind of activity happening, like someone practicing a task or a group sitting together for a lesson. The vocational side means there are tools and materials lying around for the projects we work on. It isn’t always quiet, and sometimes it gets a little chaotic when everyone is trying to do something at once. The hallways in the plaza can be narrow, but we make it work. Teachers here are usually busy moving from one desk to another. We’ve got some basic furniture and some specialized equipment for the training sessions. Parents often drop by to check on progress or just to chat for a minute. It’s a practical place where the focus is on getting through the day’s tasks. There aren't any big signs or flashy decorations, just the work we do every day. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and most of the neighbors in the building know us by now. It’s just how things are here in this part of town.
