Aashish Garments

We are located at 147 New Cloth Market. If you know the area, you know that the New Cloth Market is a hub of activity almost every day of the week except for the holidays. Aashish Garments has been operating out of this unit for a good bit now. It’s a straightforward setup. We have the stock in the back and a bit of space in the front to show people what we have. It’s not one of those air-conditioned malls with glass windows. It’s a real market shop where things move fast and there is a lot of shouting and hauling. Every morning we have to move things around to make space for the new arrivals. The floor is usually covered in plastic wrap or bits of string from the bundles. It’s a bit dusty because of the constant movement of goods in the hallway outside. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations because it wouldn't last a day in this environment. Instead, we just focus on keeping the inventory straight and making sure we know what is going out and what is coming in. It’s a hard way to earn a living sometimes, especially when it’s hot, but we’ve been doing it so long it’s just second nature to us now. Most of our neighbors have been here as long as we have, so it feels like a little community inside the market.
