Our place is located at number 50 in Sainath Estate, which is part of the GIDC area in Odhav. It’s right in the middle of Vallabhnagar, so it's surrounded by other workshops and small factories. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or the hum of a machine nearby. It’s not a quiet place to work, but we like the energy of the industrial zone. We’ve been in this shed for a long time. The walls have seen a lot of work over the years. We spend our days handling iron and making sure everything is stacked where it should be. It’s heavy work, and by the end of the day, everyone is usually pretty tired. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big lobby with chairs. There’s a small desk where the ledgers are kept and a few plastic stools for when someone needs to sit down. The tea lady comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our only real breaks. The roads in GIDC can be rough on the tires, especially after the monsoon, so we spend a lot of time fixing the gate or the driveway. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, do the work, and go home. People around Vallabhnagar know where we are if they need us. It’s just a regular spot in a busy part of town. We just keep our heads down and focus on moving the stock out.
