A. S. Engineering

You’ll find A. S. Engineering over in GIDC Naroda. Our specific spot is L-302/2/9, Phase-1, right on Nilkanth Mahadev Road. It is a heavy industrial area, so there is always the sound of hammers and the smell of welding in the air. We have been in this unit for quite some time now. The building is a bit grey and the walls could probably use some paint, but the machines inside are what matters. We do a lot of metalwork and fabrication here. It’s a messy job. Most days we end up with grease on our shirts and dust in our hair. We don't mind it much. The team is just a handful of guys who know how to handle the lathes and the drills. We get a lot of traffic on Nilkanth Mahadev Road, mostly big trucks moving raw materials. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. There isn't a lot of space for a lounge, so we just sit on crates when we take a break. We don't use any fancy management techniques. We just look at what needs to be made and we get to work. When the sun starts to go down over Naroda, we start cleaning up the metal shavings. It’s a routine that hasn't changed much in years. We do what we know, and we do it right here in Phase-1.
