About 8Th Ward Municipal High School – Education in Ahmedabad
8Th Ward Municipal High School is located right on the highway that connects Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Because we are situated in Motera, we see thousands of commuters rushing past our gates every single morning. It is a large building because we have to accommodate a lot of students from the surrounding municipal wards. The gates are big and heavy, which helps keep some of the noise and the highway dust out of the learning areas. Inside the walls, the atmosphere is quite different from the busy road. It is a government-run facility, so the setup is very straightforward without any frills. We have rows of heavy benches in the classrooms and large blackboards that get covered in white chalk dust by the time lunch rolls around. The hallways are wide and made of stone, which manages to stay relatively cool even when the sun is blazing outside. We have a set routine that we follow strictly, from the first morning bell to the final departure in the afternoon. The staff handles everything from filling out enrollment forms to organizing the daily meals for the students. It is a lot of physical work, and the office is often crowded with parents during the start of the new term. We don't have flashy brochures or advertisements; we just provide a standard education as per the city guidelines. Most of our students walk here from the nearby colonies.
