Sukhbhadar Khedut Producer Company Limited

Our place is in Kalasar, right across from the Hanumanji Temple. You really can’t miss it if you are in the Jasdan taluka area. Sukhbhadar Khedut Producer Company started because we felt that the farmers in this part of Rajkot needed a better way to handle their business. We are at number 203, and it’s a pretty busy spot with people coming to the temple all the time. Sometimes the bells and the chanting are the background to our meetings. We like being near the temple; it feels right. We aren’t some big corporate office with glass walls. It’s a basic room with some desks and chairs where we handle all the logistics for the local growers. We talk about seeds, weather, and market prices mostly. Farming in Rajkot can be tough when the rains are short, so we try to stick together to get through the lean times. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just write down what we need to do and get on with it. Every person involved is basically a neighbor or a cousin. We know everyone who brings their crops here. It’s a community thing more than anything else. We just want to make sure the kids who are farming now have a better shot than we did. We are just a group of farmers trying to make things work out.
