The office for Vandar Devi Farmers Producer Company Limited is tucked away at 170, Someshwara Park over in Thaltej. We spend a lot of time there drinking tea and talking about the harvest. It’s a group effort here. We all know how tough it can be when the market prices jump around or when the pests get into the crops. Being part of this company means we can pool our resources and maybe get a better deal on things like seeds or tools. We don’t really have a fancy website or a marketing department because we’re too busy actually working. It’s mostly just word of mouth and neighbors helping neighbors. Thaltej is a busy area now, but our focus stays on the ground. We have a few desks and some files in the office, but the real work happens outside. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when it’s harvest season because everyone is running around at once. We do our best to keep the records straight and make sure everyone gets what they need. It’s not always easy and there are plenty of long days where nothing seems to go right. But we’ve been doing this for a while now and we’ve learned to take the bad days with the good ones. We just want to keep the farm work going and support the families involved in this group without any extra fuss.
