You can find Palus Taluka Farmer Producer Company Limited on the first floor of Satyam Plaza in Nikol. We are in shop number five, right near the Suketu Complex. It’s a busy part of Ahmedabad with lots of people coming and going. The office is usually a bit of a mess with papers and tea cups everywhere. We are a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources. Most of us are more comfortable in the dirt than sitting in these chairs, but someone has to handle the paperwork. We spend our time trying to get better prices for what we grow. It involves a lot of arguing and meetings that go on for too long. We aren't professional managers. We are just guys from the Palus Taluka area who know the struggle of farming. Nikol is a good place for the office because it’s close to the market areas. We don't have a fancy website or a bunch of slogans. We just talk about seeds, fertilizer, and the price of diesel. Sometimes the power goes out in the building and we just sit around and talk until it comes back on. It’s a very local operation. We know the families of the people we work with. We aren't interested in looking corporate. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off at the end of the season.
