Our group, Kaliyana Farmers Producer Companylimited, is based in Viramgam. If you are looking for us, we are located right near the Shakti Mata Mandir. The company is registered at the home of Kalabhai Karshabhai Mori. It’s a very traditional setup because we are all just local farmers trying to make a living. Viramgam is a place with deep roots in agriculture, and we wanted to build on that. We don't have a polished office with air conditioning. We mostly meet near the temple or at Kalabhai’s house to talk about what seeds we should buy or how to deal with the latest government regulations. It’s a bit informal, but we get the work done. Being a producer company lets us pool our resources, which is important when you're a small farmer. We aren't experts in marketing or corporate business. We just know how to grow things and how to help our neighbors do the same. Sometimes the meetings go on for a long time because everyone has an opinion and it takes a while to reach an agreement. But that’s how it should be in a community. We focus on what’s practical for our fields and our families. It’s honest work, and we don't try to hide the fact that it can be a struggle sometimes. We are just a group of people from Viramgam looking out for each other. We try to keep our expenses low so more money goes back to the farmers themselves.
