Borkhadi Farmers Producer Companylimited

Our office is over at 170 Someshwara Park in Thaltej. Being in Ahmedabad, we’re a bit more towards the city side of things, but our hearts and our work are rooted in the Borkhadi area. We are a group of farmers who wanted to organize ourselves so we could get our produce into the bigger markets more easily. Thaltej is a good central spot for us to manage the logistics. We spend a lot of time coordinating between the guys out in the fields and the buyers in the city. It’s not always a smooth process. Sometimes the transport is late or the weather ruins a batch of vegetables. We don’t try to pretend we’re a big corporate entity. We’re just a bunch of people who know agriculture and want to make sure the farmers get a decent price for what they grow. There’s a lot of back-and-forth communication involved. We handle the paperwork and the phone calls from our little spot in Someshwara Park. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our toes. We don’t have any polished marketing or anything like that. We just focus on the actual food and the people who grow it. Most days involve a lot of checking on supplies and talking to the local growers about what’s ready for the market. It gets pretty busy around here, but we manage to stay on top of things. We just do what needs to be done.
