Smt Virmati Fauran Singh Inter College is located in Garhi Nirbhay, which is part of the Tundla area in Firozabad. Most people around here just call it Vfs. We are right on the road and easy to find if you are coming through this part of the district. The college building has been standing for a long time. It’s where the older kids come to finish their schooling. We have a lot of students coming in from the surrounding farms and smaller neighborhoods. The atmosphere is pretty straightforward. Teachers come in, the bell rings, and the classes start. It’s a lot of talking and writing in notebooks. We have a small staff room where we sit and have tea during the breaks. The courtyard gets very loud when the students are let out for lunch. Firozabad is known for glass, but out here in Tundla, it’s mostly about the schools and the local shops. We try to keep the place looking decent, though the dust from the road always finds its way in. There is no big marketing team here, just the principal and the office staff handling the admissions. We see the kids come in as young teenagers and leave as young adults. It’s a slow process but we’ve seen it happen many times. We just stay focused on the daily schedule and making sure the exams happen without any trouble for anyone involved.
