Dr. Maria Residential Academy

Over on Sikandra Road in Agra, you will find Dr. Maria Residential Academy. Being a residential school, things are a bit different here compared to a normal day school. The kids live on the grounds, so it is like a small village in a way. We have the dorms and the classrooms all in the same area. It stays busy from the time the sun comes up until the lights go out at night. Since the students stay with us, the staff spends a lot of time looking after them, not just in class but during meals and in the evenings too. Agra is a busy city, but our spot on Sikandra Road stays somewhat tucked away from the heaviest traffic. The buildings are older and have that worn-in feel that comes from years of students living in them. We spend a lot of time making sure the kitchen is running right because feeding so many kids three times a day is a big job. It is not a glamorous life, but it is steady. We have our routines for study time and for when the kids can go out and play. There is always someone around, whether it is a teacher or the people who look after the grounds. We do not use any big words to describe what we do. We just provide a place for these students to stay and learn their subjects while they are away from home. It takes a lot of effort to keep it all going.
