Smt. Vimla Devi Inter College

Smt. Vimla Devi Inter College is over in Garhi Rami, which is part of the Etamad Pur area in Agra. It’s a local school for the families living around here. We don’t have those big city facilities, but we have enough for the students to learn. Most of the kids walk here or come on cycles from the nearby villages. The building is a simple brick structure. We spend our mornings doing the assembly and then it’s straight to the classrooms. It can get quite dusty because of the roads nearby, so we are always sweeping the floors. We don’t have a big staff, just a group of teachers who know most of the parents by name. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows what’s happening with everyone else. We focus on the basic subjects and try to prepare the older kids for their board exams. In the winters, it gets quite cold in the rooms, so everyone wears their heavy sweaters. We don’t have a lot of extra stuff like fancy sports fields, but the kids play in the open ground nearby. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s our school. We just try to keep things running smoothly every day without too much fuss. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts or water issues, but that’s just how it is in this part of Agra. We’re just here doing the daily work of running a college and helping the kids get through their studies.
