We’ve been here in Jakhoda on Siroli Road for a good while now. It’s right near the Radha Swami Satsang Beas, which most people around Agra know well. Our building isn't fancy, just some classrooms where kids from the nearby areas come to finish their schooling. Most days start pretty early when the buses pull in and the main gate gets crowded. We spend a lot of time just keeping things running, making sure the desks are in place and the chalk is ready for the teachers. It gets quite dusty on this road especially when the wind picks up, so we’re always sweeping. People ask what we do here and mostly it is just helping students pass their exams so they can find a decent job or go off to a bigger university in the city. There is a lot of noise during the breaks but otherwise, it is a quiet spot compared to the center of Agra. We have some trees in the courtyard that provide a bit of shade when it’s hot. It’s not a big corporate operation, just a local place where families send their children because we are close by and they know who we are. Some of the staff have lived in this neighborhood their whole lives. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just the basics for the kids to get their work done. It is just a normal school doing its best for the neighborhood kids.
