Shri Narsingh Bhagwan Inter College

Down in Loh Karera, not far from Agra, is where you'll find Shri Narsingh Bhagwan Inter College. It’s an old-school kind of place, really. We’ve been here for a long time, and many of the parents who bring their kids here actually went to this school themselves. We handle the older kids, being an inter college, so the atmosphere is a bit different than a primary school. There’s a lot of focus on the exams because that’s what matters for their future. We have rows of desks and plenty of blackboards. The building itself is sturdy but shows its age in places. We don’t mind that much as long as the roof doesn't leak. The staff are hardworking folks from the village and the nearby towns. We start early and end when the sun is still high. There’s no air conditioning, just ceiling fans and open windows to catch the breeze. We talk to the students about their responsibilities and try to keep them on the right path. It’s a very grounded way of living. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. People know us because we’ve been part of the community for ages. We just keep the doors open and do the work of teaching. It’s simple and honest, and that’s how we like it here in Loh Karera. Every morning we just get the keys and start the day.
