Sarvjanik Gyan Jyoti Inter College

Sarvjanik Gyan Jyoti Inter College is tucked away in Vishnu Vihar, which is in the Pathauli area of Agra. Being an inter college, we deal with older students who are getting ready for their bigger exams. The building is a decent size and stands out a bit in the Vishnu Vihar neighborhood. It’s not right in the middle of the tourist spots of Agra, so it stays a bit quieter, which is good for the students. We have a lot of teenagers coming in from the surrounding villages and suburbs every morning. The atmosphere is pretty serious most of the time because these years matter a lot for their future. We have the usual rows of benches and blackboards. The teachers here have been around for a long time and they know how to handle a crowded classroom. It’s a straightforward place with no extra bells and whistles. We focus on the syllabus and making sure the students are prepared. During the winter, the mornings can be quite cold, so everyone is bundled up in sweaters. By lunch, the sun is out and the courtyard gets a bit of life. It’s a typical college life here in Pathauli. We don't try to be something we aren't. It’s just a place where young people come to study and move on to the next stage of their lives. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
