Narayani Devi Girls Unter College

Our place is located in Sikandra, out here in Agra. It’s a girls' college where things are usually pretty quiet in the mornings before the students arrive. We’ve got the regular classrooms and the usual desks you’d expect in an older school building. Living and working in Agra means we see a lot of the same families year after year. The girls come here to get their intermediate education, and we spend our days making sure the registers are marked and the lessons are moving along. It’s not a huge campus with a lot of extras, but it serves the local community well enough. We have a lot of tea and talk about the upcoming exams in the staff room. Sometimes the power goes out, or it gets really hot in the summer, but we just open the windows and keep going. The walls might need a bit of paint here and there, and the playground isn't professional-grade, but the students don't seem to mind much. They’re mostly focused on their books and hanging out with their friends during the breaks. It feels like a very normal, local school where everyone knows each other. We don't do anything flashy or have big signs. We just open the gates every morning and do our jobs until it's time to go home. It’s just how it is for us at Narayani Devi Girls Unter College.
