Maharshi Parashuram Inter College

Maharshi Parashuram Inter College is situated right on Jamuna Kinara in Agra. Being so close to the river means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which is a blessing because Agra gets incredibly hot. The college is a bit old, with thick walls and high ceilings that help keep the heat out during the summer months. We deal with students in those middle years, from high school through the intermediate levels. It’s a busy age, and the building reflects that. There’s always someone running down the stairs or a group of boys standing around the main gate talking about cricket. We don't have the gleaming marble floors you might find in some of the newer colleges, but our benches are solid and the classrooms are large. The staff here has been around for a long time. They’ve seen the city change and the traffic on Jamuna Kinara get much worse over the years. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the students are ready for their board exams. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t use a lot of fancy technology; we mostly stick to books and lectures. Parents in this part of Agra know us as a reliable place where their kids can study without distractions. It’s just a local college doing what it’s supposed to do for the community every day of the week, helping kids get to the next step.
