Jones Mery Inter College

Jones Mery Inter College in Agra. Mahavir Nagar is a busy place, especially in the mornings when the sun is coming up over Rambagh. We've been here for a good while now, just running the school out of this building. You can find us right on the street, and it’s usually pretty loud with all the rickshaws and bikes passing by. The students come in early, some walking and some on cycles, and they fill up the classrooms before the first bell goes off. It’s an inter college, so we have the younger ones and the teenagers all in the same space. The classrooms aren't anything special, just rows of wooden desks and blackboards that we’ve used for years. Sometimes the chalk gets everywhere, and the fans hum quite a bit when it gets hot in the afternoon. We have a small office where we keep all the registers and paperwork stacked up on the shelves. There’s a bit of a courtyard where the kids hang out during the break, mostly just talking or eating their lunch boxes. It’s a local school, and most people around here know where we are. We don't have a big fancy gate or anything, just the regular entrance that stays open all day. The teachers are usually busy marking papers in the staff room, which is often a bit cramped with all the books. It’s just a normal place where we do our work every day.
