Dollys Public Inter College

Working at Dollys Public Inter College on Balkeshwar Road is a bit of a balancing act. Agra can get incredibly hot in the summer months, and our building in the Cantt area definitely feels it. We have high ceilings and fans that spin all day long to keep the classrooms from getting too stuffy for the children. The students come in from all over the 282001 area, so the mornings are a blur of uniforms and bicycles. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment; it’s mostly just chalk and talk here. The office is always piled high with registers and old files that we need to sort through when the government asks for them. You can hear the noise from the street coming in through the windows, but nobody really minds after a while. We’ve been here long enough that the local shopkeepers know us by name and wave when we walk by. It’s a very grounded place. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. Most of our time is spent just making sure the kids show up and the teachers have their schedules ready. There’s a bit of a garden in the front, but the Agra dust usually covers the leaves by midday. It’s just a normal school where people work hard and go home tired. We keep things simple because that’s what works for our families and the staff who live nearby. It’s a reliable spot in a very busy part of town.
