D V S Inter College

Our college is situated on Rupwas Road in Fatehpur Sikri, not too far from the famous historical sites, but our daily life is much more ordinary. We mostly serve the local kids from the surrounding villages and the town itself. It is an inter college, so the students are a bit older and you see a lot of bicycles parked outside near the entrance. The building is a practical one, designed to keep the sun out during those long, hot months in Agra district. We have several classrooms and a small area for the staff. It is not a place with a lot of extra money, so we make do with what we have. Sometimes the power is a bit patchy, but we just keep going with the lessons anyway. The teachers are straightforward people who live nearby and understand the local way of life. They spend their days at the chalkboards and grading papers at their desks. During the lunch break, students sit around in groups talking about their families or their plans. It is a very grounded place. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just have a gate that opens in the morning and closes in the evening. It is a lot of work to manage all the records and the students, but it is what we do here on Rupwas Road every single day.
