You can find D R Inter College right on Bateshwar Road in Shikohabad. Firozabad is known for its glass, but here in our part of town, it's all about the schools and the daily commute. Our building sits right by the road, so it’s easy for everyone to find. We have students coming in from all the nearby areas. The morning assembly is usually the quietest time of the day. After that, it’s just the sound of chalk on boards and kids reciting their lessons. The building has seen better days, maybe it needs a fresh coat of paint, but it’s sturdy. We have a lot of trees around the perimeter which helps when the sun is out. Bateshwar Road can get quite noisy with the trucks and buses passing by, but we’ve grown used to it. Most of the staff live nearby, so we walk or take a rickshaw to work. We don't do anything too fancy here. It’s just about getting the books open and making sure the students are learning something. During the rainy season, the yard gets a bit muddy, so we have to be careful. People in Shikohabad are hardworking, and we see that in the families who send their children here. It’s a plain, straightforward place for education. No bells and whistles, just a regular school doing its job every day of the week.
