B N Sarraf Inter College is found in the village of Jagner, which is part of the Jaganair area in Agra district. Our address is out in the rural part of Agra, specifically in the 283115 pincode. The college is a familiar landmark for the people living in this village. It’s a brick-and-mortar building that has stood for quite some time, and it feels very much like a part of the local landscape. Every day, students arrive from the surrounding farms and houses, mostly on foot or by bicycle. The rooms are high-ceilinged to help with the heat, though it still gets very warm during the peak of summer. We don’t have fancy landscaping or modern glass walls. Instead, we have a dusty yard and sturdy wooden furniture that has seen a lot of use. The staff room is where we all gather to drink tea and sort through the day's attendance registers. Managing a college in a place like Jaganair means dealing with things as they come, whether it’s a power cut or a particularly dusty day. We don’t try to act like a big city institution; we just focus on the basics of keeping the school running. Most of us have lived in Agra our whole lives, so we know the community well. It’s a modest place where the day-to-day work is what matters most. We just keep the gates open and the lessons going as usual, day after day.
