A P Inter College

People know us here in Shamsabad as the place on the edge of the village. Being an Inter College in a place like Agra means we see a lot of students who are the first in their families to really study this much. The building is old and we have had to add rooms over the years as more kids started coming from the surrounding farms. It gets very dusty during the summer months and the wind blows right across the fields into the classrooms. We spend a good amount of time just keeping the place clean and making sure there is enough seating for everyone. It is not a quiet place. Between the bells and the kids talking in the halls, there is always some noise. Most of our staff lives nearby, so we all walk or cycle to work. We don't have a big fancy website or glossy brochures to hand out. People just find us because we are right here in the village and have been for years. Sometimes we have issues with the electricity, especially when it gets really hot, but we manage with what we have. Teaching here is about getting the students ready for their exams so they can maybe go to the city for more study or help out at home with better skills. It is a plain life, but we stay busy. The tea stall across the road is where most of us end up after the final bell rings.
