Jagadamba Earth Movers

Running Jagadamba Earth Movers from H. No. 6-61 in Thoshamthanda has its ups and downs. It’s a village area in Gudihathnoor, so the terrain can be quite tricky depending on where we are working. We deal with a lot of soil and rock, mostly for small construction jobs or clearing land for new projects. The machines are heavy and loud, which is quite a contrast to the quiet surroundings of the thanda. I’ve spent many hours under those engines with a wrench in my hand, covered in grease and dirt. My neighbors often drop by to talk about work they need done in their fields. We try to be fair with our timing, but sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to tell people to wait. It’s frustrating for everyone, but that’s the reality of working with heavy machinery. We don’t use any polished language to explain ourselves. If the machine is broken, it’s broken. We fix it and move on to the next site. The roads around Gudihathnoor aren't always the easiest for moving big equipment, so we have to plan our routes carefully. It’s a lot of physical labor and long hours, but it keeps the family going.
