Shiva Balajee Earth Works

Down in Dharmaram village, you’ll find our place at 3-42, Dharmaram(v), Jannaram(m). We’re part of the Jannaram area. Shiva Balajee Earth Works is mostly about heavy machinery and dirt. We spend our days out on sites, digging or moving earth for different projects. It’s messy work. Our clothes are usually covered in red soil by the end of the shift. The office is just a small room where we keep the keys and some basic records. We don’t have a big staff. It’s a few of us who know how to handle the equipment. Most of our work happens outdoors, so we’re always watching the weather. If it rains too much, we can’t do much. That’s the hardest part of the job. We’ve been doing this around Jannaram for a long time. People know us by our yellow machines. We don’t bother with advertisements. Word of mouth usually keeps us busy enough. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because the ground is harder than expected. We just keep at it until it’s finished. It’s not glamorous, but it’s necessary work for building things. We’re just local people working with the land. We like being outside and seeing the progress we make each day. It’s a simple life, and we’re okay with that. We plan to be here for many more years to come, working the soil and helping build the community.
