Start by mentioning we are over here in Samuktala Basti. Hitkari Guria’s place is where we set things up. It’s mostly just us farmers from around here trying to get things sorted with the crops. It’s a lot of work honestly, dealing with the soil and the weather which doesn't always go our way. We spend most of our mornings out there and then meet up at the house to talk about what to do next. It's not a fancy setup at all, just a room with some chairs and a lot of paperwork that needs doing. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a bit messy but we manage to get the produce moving. Nirmal Sarkar and the rest of the group are usually around if anyone needs to ask about the harvest. We didn't start this to be big, just to make sure we have a way to sell what we grow without too much trouble. It gets busy during the planting season and everyone is pretty tired by the end of the day. We’ve been at this for a bit now and we’re still learning how to handle the business side of things. It’s just how life goes here in New Saglatala. We keep the tools in the back and there's always someone coming by with a question about seeds or prices. That's about it really, just a group of us working the land.
