Empowerment Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in a small village called Heria. We operate from Foras Gazi’s place. The post office is in Moukhali, and that’s the name most people use for the whole area. It’s a very rural spot in the 743610 zip code. Most of us here are farmers who have spent our whole lives in these fields. We decided to put this company together so we could handle our own sales and supplies without too many middlemen. It’s not always easy because the roads aren't the best, especially during the monsoon when they turn to mud. We spend a lot of our time meeting under the trees or in Foras’s front room. We just know our neighbors and we know our land. The work is dirty and exhausting sometimes, but it’s what we do. We try to keep track of what everyone is growing so we can sell it together in bulk. It’s a simple system that works for us. Sometimes we have to travel a bit to the bigger markets, but mostly we stay here in Heria. We are just a bunch of regular folks trying to make the most of what we have in our village and help each other out.
