Asha Mukul Women Primary Producer Company Limited

Our group is out in Bailani village, under the Dharamberiabishpur GP in Hingalganj. It’s a quiet area, mostly farms and small houses. Asha Mukul is run by the women here. We decided to register as a primary producer company because it’s better than working alone. We deal with whatever the season gives us. Sometimes it’s grain, sometimes other things. We meet up in a small room to talk about how things are going. It’s often noisy with everyone talking at once, but we get things decided eventually. Most of us have been doing this kind of work since we were young, but now we’re trying to do it in a more organized way. The roads around Hingalganj aren’t always the best, so getting things moved takes time and a lot of patience. We don’t have a big budget for fancy stuff. We use what we have. It’s about making sure the women in our village have a way to earn and stay independent. We spend our days checking the produce and making sure the storage is dry. It’s practical, everyday work. We don't have big titles or fancy clothes. Just regular clothes and dirty hands from the work. We’re just trying to make a go of it here in the village, making sure the effort we put in actually pays off for our homes and children. Some days are harder than others, but we don't give up on the work easily.
