Soan Turmeric Farmers Producer Company Limited is based over at 2-451 in Pakpatla. If you come by, you’ll see we are just a regular group of farmers working with turmeric. We’ve been in this area for a long time, and Pakpatla is where our roots are. The company was put together so we could have a better way to manage our crops together. Farming turmeric isn't easy work, and there are always problems with the soil or the water. We use the space at 2-451 to keep our records and meet up when we need to decide something important. It’s mostly just us sitting around talking about the last harvest and what we can do better next time. We aren’t trying to be some big corporation. We just want to make sure the farmers around here get a fair shake. The building is simple and reflects how we work. Most of our time is spent out in the dirt, not behind a desk. When you grow turmeric, your hands are always stained orange, and that is just a part of the job. We take pride in what we grow here in Pakpatla, and being part of this company helps us keep the tradition going while trying to stay updated with how things work now. It is a slow process, but we are getting there together as a group.
