Proddatur Farmers Producer Company Limited is based at H No 5/103 in Thallamapuram, which is part of Proddatur in the Cuddapah area of Andhra Pradesh. We are out in a place where farming is the only thing most people know. Our office is just a regular house that we use to run the business. It’s hot here most of the year, so we do a lot of our meetings in the early morning or late evening when it’s a bit cooler. The farmers come in from all over the Cuddapah district to talk about their yields and what the market looks like. We try to keep things simple and honest. There isn't any corporate talk here, just plain English and local dialect. We deal with the realities of the soil and the water every day. Sometimes the rains don't come when they should, and that’s when the office gets really busy with people trying to figure out what to do. We help with the seeds and the selling part of the job. It’s a tough life being a farmer, and we just want to make it a little bit easier by working together. We’ve been at this address for a while, and it has become a bit of a hub for the local growers. It’s nothing special to look at, but the work we do inside matters to the families around here.
