So we are out here in Chinnakomerla, right in the Mylavara area near Jammalmadugu. Sreenivasula Farmer Producer Company Limited isn't some big fancy office building with glass walls or anything like that. It's really just a group of us local folks working together because farming alone in Cuddapah can be pretty tough some years. We spend most our time dealing with the soil and the heat, trying to get things sorted for the season. Our spot at H No. 1-84 is where we meet up to talk about the crops and how to get them moved. It’s a lot of manual work and sometimes the paperwork gets a bit confusing, but we manage somehow. You’ll usually see a couple of us hanging around the front talking about the rain or the market prices. It’s not always pretty, there is dust and noise from the tractors, but it is what we do. We have lived in this part of Andhra Pradesh all our lives, so we know the land around here pretty well. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation, just a bunch of farmers trying to make things a little easier for each other. Sometimes the gate is a bit sticky and the power goes out in the afternoon, but that's just how life is in the village. We just keep at it every day, making sure the harvest is handled and people get what they need. It’s simple, honest work out here in the heat.
