Vitthalakshmi Farmer Producer Companylimited is over at House Number 1 in Hiwalani, near Pusad. It’s a small place and if you aren't looking for it, you might drive right past. We are just a bunch of local folks who decided to band together. Farming around Pusad has its challenges, and doing everything by yourself is a good way to go broke. We named the company after what we felt was right, but at the end of the day, it’s just a way for us to buy things in bulk and maybe get a better deal when we sell. The office is very basic, just a desk and some chairs where we sit and drink tea while talking about the weather. We don't have any polished speeches or big promises. We just try to get through each season and hope the crops come up okay. The ground here can be stubborn, and the sun is pretty unforgiving in the summer months. Most of our members are just neighbors from the village who have been farming for generations. We don't know much about big business, but we know how to tell if a crop is going to be good or not. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a plain life at 445204, and we are fine with that.
