Vidarbha & Marathwada Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Vivekanand Colony in Umarkhed. We use the place at Shri Vitthal Namdeorao Kadam’s home to run our operations. Umarkhed is right on the edge of these two big regions, so we see farmers from both sides coming in. Yavatmal-445206 is where we call home. We started this because the small farmers around here were struggling to get noticed by the big buyers. We don't have a corporate office with a receptionist. It’s just us sitting in a room or out on the porch talking shop. Farming in this part of Maharashtra is a tough business. There are years when the rain just doesn't come, and years when it's too much. We try to help our members get through those times by working as a group. We handle the seeds, the fertilizers, and the selling of the final crops. It’s not a glamorous life. We get our hands dirty and we spend a lot of time on the phone or traveling to different fields. We aren't experts in marketing or branding. We just know the people and we know the land. Our address is a simple house in a regular colony. We keep our records in big notebooks and try to stay organized. It’s about being there for each other when the harvest is ready. We just do the daily work and hope for a decent season every year.
