Pofali Mahila Farmer Producer Companylimited

We are a group of women who started the Pofali Mahila Farmer Producer Companylimited in our small village here in Yavatmal. You can find us at Nanarao Demaji Lakade’s place in Pofali. Starting a company was a big step for us because most of us were used to just working our own small plots of land. Now, we work together to sell what we grow and buy what we need in bulk. It makes things a bit cheaper for everyone, which helps when the harvest isn't as big as we hoped. Yavatmal is known for its farming, but it can be a hard life, so having this group makes us feel a bit stronger. We don't have a professional manager or anyone like that. We just take turns handling the books and making sure the registrations are up to date. The office is really just a room where we store some files and meet up in the afternoons. It gets pretty loud when twenty of us are trying to decide on something, but we always figure it out eventually. We aren't trying to become a giant company. We just want to make sure the women in Pofali get a better life from their farming. We've had our share of mistakes with the accounting and the logistics, but we are getting better at it every month. It’s just us, doing our best for our families.
