Maa Aharadevi Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Hatbadra, which is in the Kusumi block. We are a small collection of farmers who decided to join up. The name comes from our local traditions here in Hatbadra. We don't have a big staff or any fancy equipment. It is just us, the people who actually work the soil. We started this producer company because we wanted to have a better way to manage our harvests. In Kusumi, life revolves around the seasons. When it’s time to plant, everyone is busy. When it’s time to harvest, it’s even busier. We meet up near the post office or at someone’s house to figure out the logistics. We don't use any of that corporate language you hear on the news. We just talk about simple things like the cost of seeds and how to get our goods to the town market. Maa Aharadevi Farmers Producer Company Limited is a way for us to have a little more control over our lives. It isn't perfect. We make plenty of mistakes and sometimes we don't agree on which direction to take. But we are all from this same community and we want the best for each other. We are just plain-speaking folks who work hard every day. We don't have any big slogans. We just want to make sure our farms stay productive and our families are taken care of for the long run.
